X Threat to sustainabilty

Second only to wall street with big banks sponsoring professors and others of system corrupting macroeconomics Skoll-Ashoka Syndrome: Change force dominated by non-social business ie  "social entrepreneurs" and their hubs and clubs; also bureaucratic gov social enterprises Gateway to various network models whose subscription models devalued trust – eg ecademy  complete misundersytanding of how technology is the problem -need to reread what schumacher actually said    to redirect technology so that it serves man instead of destroying him requires primarily an effort of the imagination and an abandonment of fear.  -what's amzing is this was written in the 1970s! The question of what technology actually does for us is therefore worthy of investigation. It obviously greatly reduces some kinds of work while it increases other kinds. The type of work which modern technology is most successful in reducing or even eliminating is skilful, productive work of human hands, in touch with real materials of one kind or another. In an advanced industrial society, such work has become exceedingly rare, and to make a decent living by doing such work has become virtually impossible. A great part of the modern neurosis may be due to this very fact; for the human being, defined by Thomas Aquinas as a being with brains and hands, enjoys nothing more than to be creatively, usefully, productively engaged with both his hands and his brains. Today, a person has to be wealthy to be able to enjoy this simple thing, this very great luxury: he has to be able to afford space and good tools; he has to be lucky enough to find a good teacher and plenty of free time to learn and practise. He really has to be rich enough not to need a job; for the number of jobs that would be satisfactory in these respects is very small indeed
? In playRising World stage to 2012’s Olympics Legacy of Brown/Blair – he of African committee and climate crisis reports BBC & The Economist -2 media now spinning the exact opposite of the their founders DNA and the unique capabilities and conflicts they could be mediating

African setting up 10000 member microfinance association at $150 membership- we need a 100000 membership micro up association but we will never get micro up people if they have to pay $150 a year or if their associlation has to be sponsored by big finance; of course a million dollars to finanace 100000 souls of a city is chickenfeed compared with what locla governments waste but local govs are not systemised to empower people and help them recereaye community sustainability

Probably second largest Africa Diaspora group but not highly social business aware Welfare rules with negative impact on designing true microcredit banks British council hq of climate champions youth network and exchanger of education models but odd interlondon knowledge- distributing constitution and not able to partner individual companies only country’s people; ditto other “commonwealth” institutes. Pivotal in  national and regional political battles of getting past inter-gov aid to micro up aid How much does Branson get it
Tick -opportunity to sustainability Ashden 33+ year home of scenarios of big economics and big media spin compound risks of loss of human and planetary sustainability- originally entrepreneur and microeconomics were antidote constructs Will of a silent majority of youth nmot yet loan trapped to same degree of big city American youth) to  learn from other yunus-centred cities – particularly Glasgow, Paris, Berlin The network epicenter of English, and potentially historical perspectives of future conflicts to resolve

Still the most multicultural city with a sense of needing to be responsible for colonial messes England did the most original system harm to; conscience can been improved by scots, welsh and irish

has a very deep gandhian society but 99.999%  ofsocial netwoekers don't know it exists; yunus is speaking to inmdia parliament in december; interesti ng n idnia minister of broadcasting and It is same guy

if people have a favourite shumacher quote they want to sign their web or contact point to or can help with city profiles then I want to put these up at worldcitizen.tv
